Rammax invented the trench roller product more than 40 years ago, and benchmarks have always been set to improve efficiencies. Today, Ammann is the only manufacturer to still offer both articulated and skid-steered trench rollers. The longevity of the product line and the continuation of the versions prove Ammann’s commitment to this market.
Trench rollers, also called multipurpose compactors, perform well in cohesive soil types, such as clays, that can be very difficult to compact. The ARR 1575 and 1585 are able to overcome the high moisture content in clays through their extreme compaction energy and the kneading effect of their padfoot drums.
The machines perform effectively and quickly on less challenging soils, too.
Ammann diesel-burning machines are able to utilise hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), a biofuel made from waste that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90%.

WHAT SETS AMMANN TRENCH ROLLERS APART?
EASY ACCESS TO SERVICE POINTS
The hood opens wide to help crew members and technicians access the desired service points and components.
THE INFRARED SYSTEM
It is perfectly positioned with no dead angles. Integrated solar panels charge the transmitter.
The ARR 1575 is the articulated trench roller while the 1585 is the skid-steer body version. Ammann can help you determine which model is most suitable to your applications.
- Pipeline construction
- Commercial, residential and industrial development
- Structure backfill work
- Confined work spaces
- Electric and cable installation
- Dumpsite and landfill jobsites
EFFECTIVE VIBRATORY SYSTEM
A low centre of gravity ensures the vibration reaches its target. Also enabling effectiveness are a circular vibrator and two amplitude settings.
Working width can be adjusted from 640mm to 850mm. The adjustment can be easily done on the jobsite.
The engine behind the ARR is quiet, powerful and fuel efficient, and meets emission standards.
