When changing screens, don’t forget about the disc spring.

Dust must be removed from the disc spring on the tensioning elements every time the screen insert is changed.

If dust remains on the spring, function is restricted and the tensioning force cannot be applied correctly.

The locking ring has to be dismantled to ensure that dust can be fully removed between the individual disc spring elements. The individual disc spring can then be cleaned with a brush.

The tensioning elements must be reinstalled after cleaning. Also ensure that the arrangement of layers in the spring column is correct.

To allow fast installation of new screen inserts, we recommend keeping the proper number of maintained tensioning elements on hand, so the elements can be installed at the same time.

Removed tensioning elements can then be cleaned during regular plant operation and stored until needed.

The last step in this process is properly adjusting the tension of each screen insert.
