LANGENTHAL, Switzerland – A Dutch business has a goal of being 100% climate-neutral by 2030. It took a step in that direction recently with the utilisation of an Ammann eARX 26-2 Tandem Roller – an electric-drive machine.
Roelofs, a family-owned business with several locations in the Netherlands, recently completed a paving project in Beltrum with the Ammann eARX 26-2. The roller effortlessly compacted the top layer of asphalt, which had a depth of 4 cm.
Central to the business is its commitment to sustainability, and the Ammann eARX 26-2 perfectly aligns with that vision. The tandem roller is a zero emissions machine that also provides the power needed on jobsites. In fact, the electric-drive roller is as powerful as comparable diesel machines.
The Ammann eARX 26-2 is extremely customer friendly. Fast charging is conducted via a 200-amp mobile charger that is wheeled to the machine. After a quick plug-in, charging begins. A roller can go from no charge to 100% charged in three hours.
The machine is able to work an eight-hour shift, and sometimes longer, without recharging. A 50-amp charger is also available.
The machine further improves sustainability because little maintenance is required, and the need for fluids is dramatically reduced.
