Ammann Products Featured at World of Asphalt – Asphalt Plants, Light Equipment Now Available in North America
Ammann asphalt-mixing plants, light equipment and a RAP shredding machine will be featured at World of Asphalt 2019, to be held Feb. 12-14 in Indianapolis.
It’s a special year for Ammann as 2019 marks the company’s 150th anniversary. The business was started in Switzerland and now has operations around the world. It entered the North American market a few years ago with the introduction of key asphalt-mixing plants, including those that incorporate high percentages of recycled asphalt (RAP), as well as light equipment.
Company representatives will be at the trade show to discuss the North American product lineup. Those asphalt-mixing plants, machines and technologies include:
High Recycling Technology Plant
The Ammann ABP High Recycling Technology (HRT) Asphalt-Mixing Plant is an ideal fit for asphalt manufacturers who need to incorporate large proportions of RAP without sacrificing production capacity and quality.
The ABP HRT plant features both warm and cold recycling systems that can be used simultaneously. The most striking visual difference between the ABP HRT and traditional plants is the vertical stacking of the RAP-bearing components. This configuration reduces wear and sticking and shortens the travel distance of hot RAP material.
The plant has a production capacity up to 440 U.S. short tons per hour. It can utilize foamed bitumen, pigments and other additives.
ABA UniBatch Plant
Versatility makes the ABA UniBatch one of Ammann’s most popular plants, with installations at many locations around the world. The plant is among the lower-cost alternatives and is easy to operate and maintain.
It is also known for its reliability and flexibility. The ABA UniBatch is easily customizable with features such as fiber additions, foam bitumen and hot and cold reclaimed asphalt. It also is engineered for easy integration of future options and technologies. The plant can be utilized as a start-up or seamlessly integrated into existing sites.
The ABA UniBatch is available with varied output capacities to meet the needs of all customers.
ACM Prime Plant
The Ammann ACM Prime Asphalt-Mixing Plant is perfect for those who have a number of small jobs in varied locations and where frequent transport is required.
The ACM Prime is also a great initial acquisition for paving contractors looking to introduce asphalt production into their businesses. The plant excels at specialty mixes, such as those used for paving tennis courts and running tracks.
The ACM 140 Prime offers output of up to 154 U.S. short tons per hour. It is engineered for smaller volumes and therefore produces them efficiently, delivering cost savings in fuel and electrical energy consumption. Recycled asphalt can be utilized with this plant.
The entire plant and three cold feeder bins fit on two axles during transport. When working, its total length is 71 feet, making it a good fit on production sites where space is tight.
RSS 120-M Shredder
The RSS 120-M Shredder, Iron Separator and Screen is a mobile machine that prepares RAP for use in an asphalt-mixing plant.
The shredder’s patented crushing system maintains desired grain sizes, dramatically reducing the fines that make RAP sticky and difficult to work with.
With its ability to function as a shredder, iron separator and screen, the RSS 120-M is essentially a “three-in-one” machine. It can go from installation to production in as quickly as 30 minutes. A single operator can run the machine, and the parameters can be adjusted locally or remotely.
The RSS 120-M is a fuel-efficient, all-weather performer that is able to crush hard materials as well as soft materials, such as clays. A variety of green efforts are built into the machine, including a dust reduction system and minimized sound and emission levels.
Forward-Moving Vibratory Plate Compactors
Ammann’s APF series of forward-moving vibratory plate compactors combines the powerful Ammann exciter system with the industry’s lowest hand-arm vibration (HAV) levels. The result is a robust series of compactors that is productive – and comfortable and safe for operators, too.
The plates’ technologically advanced exciter unit is maintenance free, with cylindrical bearings that reduce wear. The exciter system also provides significant forward-moving power to enhance efficiency in challenging materials and on steep grades.
Rammers
Ammann Rammers feature the best forward movement in the industry, helping contractors in all applications work effectively and ultimately achieve compaction targets. Their unmatched balance and forward-moving ability make them the tool of choice for contractors and rental agencies.
The rammers are also easy to use and operators of all experience levels are able to perform productively. The operators are more comfortable, too, because of the rammers’ reduced-vibration handle.
ServiceLink
Ammann ServiceLink is a light equipment fleet management tool that furnishes machine owners with access to key information such as battery status, working hours, machine starts and maintenance details.
The information is provided directly on the machine and can be accessed online or via a mobile app. It is effective for individual businesses as well as rental firms.
