Higher Productivity, Lower Operating Costs and Improved Operator Comfort

Ammann has expanded its compaction portfolio with the introduction of the ATR 59 and ATR 66 Rammers. The next-generation machines deliver measurable value for contractors through higher productivity, improved ergonomics and simplified serviceability.

A key advantage of this machine is its lighter weight versus the previous generation, while maintaining the same level of performance.

The new models replace the previous ATR 60 and ATR 68 rammers and will be offered in a single, premium-level configuration. This streamlined approach ensures that every contractor benefits from Ammann’s latest innovations without having to choose between tiered versions.

Designed to Work Harder – and Longer

Both the ATR 59 and ATR 66 are engineered around contractor priorities: uptime, ease of use and total cost of ownership. Ergonomic refinements include a larger 30-mm grip bar, optimized tamping angle and improved height adjustment with stop function. These features reduce operator fatigue over long shifts while improving control and compaction consistency.

A redesigned engine layout positions the power unit closer to the machine body. This enhances balance and manoeuvrability – especially valuable in trench work and confined spaces. Reduced engine speed (from 4,300 rpm to 3,600 rpm) lowers fuel consumption and emissions without sacrificing performance.

Less Downtime, Lower Costs

Serviceability improvements reduce interruptions on the jobsite. A larger air-filter housing with a self-cleaning function improves protection against contamination, while tool-free access simplifies daily checks. As a result, service intervals have been extended by 25%, increasing machine uptime and reducing maintenance costs.

The durable, maintenance-free spring system – lubricated with long-life grease – further minimizes ownership costs while ensuring reliable compaction performance over the life of the machine.

Transport Made Easier

An optional transport wheel system allows tool-free installation and removal, with larger wheels and an integrated holder for stable movement across rough terrain – saving time and effort between work areas.

Sustainable by Design

The new rammers support contractor sustainability goals through efficient engines, compatibility with synthetic or mixed fuels, and long-life components made from wear-resistant steel. At the end of their service life, the machines and their components are highly recyclable.

ATR 59: Versatile Performance for Everyday Compaction

The ATR 59 is designed for a wide range of applications, delivering high compaction output with excellent manoeuvrability. Its ergonomic open-handle design provides clear visibility of the shoe and multiple gripping points for precise control. Contractors benefit from faster, more consistent results with less physical strain on operators.

ATR 66: Heavy-Duty Power for Demanding Applications

Built on the same ergonomic and service-friendly platform as the ATR 59, the ATR 66 offers higher impact force for more demanding compaction tasks. It is well suited for contractors who require additional power without compromising operator comfort or machine durability.
