LANGENTHAL, Switzerland – Ammann will showcase key innovative products at SMOPYC 2023, a public works and construction trade show to be held in Zaragoza, Spain, from 22-25 November.
Visitors to the Ammann stand can see a walk-behind roller with a breakthrough steering system; an electric-drive tandem roller that is sizable for an e-drive machine; and a digital tool that offers great value for rental houses and other fleet managers.
Ammann’s highly advanced asphalt-mixing plants will be represented, with scale models of recycling solutions.
Ammann ARW 65-S Walk-Behind Roller
This walk-behind roller has a cutting-edge steering system that enables the control handle to manoeuvre the machine in all directions. Other versions equipped with a handle only engage forward and reverse movements. In contrast, the ARW 65-S can be moved 15o to both the right and left – as well as forward and reverse.
The effortless lateral movement is a significant advantage. Body weight is not required to direct the machine. This advancement prevents operator fatigue, eliminates surface irregularities and provides consistency throughout the shift.
Ammann eARX 26-2 Light Tandem Roller
This compactor features a fully electric drive that can operate for up to 8 hours – and sometimes beyond – without recharging. With an operating weight of 2640 kg (5820 lb), it’s large for an e-drive machine.
The absence of a combustion engine makes the eARX 26-2 extremely quiet during operation. Because it does not produce emissions, the machine can work indoors.
Charging is fast, easy, and requires no special tools. The battery is likely to last for the life of the machine.
The machine is almost maintenance-free, which significantly reduces the total cost of ownership and improves profitability.
Ammann ServiceLink
This digital data management tool provides customers with the information they want the most: machine location, battery status and hours. Data transfer is automatic, thanks to new hardware, and access to the information is only a click away.
This comprehensive fleet system provides key data for light compaction equipment, heavy compaction machines and asphalt pavers. Users can choose which machines to track.
ServiceLink is an essential resource for rental houses. They can track where their machines are and how many hours they’ve been used. It also streamlines inventory control, billing and maintenance.
Asphalt-Mixing Plants
Plant models at the stand include an RAH100 dryer/drum and an Ammann ABA UniBatch Asphalt-Mixing Plant.
Experts also will be available to discuss Ammann’s innovative new technologies that dramatically reduce emissions at asphalt-mixing plants.
- The H2 burner is the first burner on the market capable of utilising 100% hydrogen.
- The VOC Reduction Device (VRD) filters emissions in later steps, including 70% of the VOCs that can develop while recycling asphalt.
- Blue Smoke Treatment (BST) captures the blue smoke that can arise during truck loading.
- The new technologies are part of the Green Plant Initiative, Ammann’s commitment to improving the sustainability of asphalt production.
Many more products on display
Products at the stand also include rammers; forward-moving, reversible and hydrostatic plate compactors; and walk-behind, tandem and single-drum rollers. Some of the machines will be electric-drive models.
Ammann will be in Pavilion 8, Stand B-C/5-14.
