PROCESS TECHNOLOGY
This module’s curriculum is built around the asphalt plant’s operations and the function of the key components.
PLANT SAFETY
This module focuses on the potential risks at the plants, with discussions on how to ensure the safety of the student and all plant personnel.
MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS
This module is the “how” and “why.” How do the key components function, and why do they work in that particular way?
MAINTENANCE
This module provides an understanding of the necessary maintenance requirements and interprets the maintenance manuals. It also includes spare parts identification lessons and how to conduct preventive work.
AS1 CONTROL SYSTEM
The lessons focus on control system operation and how the system communicates with the external plant hardware. Other instruction areas include symbol identification on the computer screen, proper start-up procedures and production operations on an as1 simulator.
