Ammann Light Tandem Roller Now Utilizing a Mahindra Engine
Ammann’s new light tandem roller utilizes a powerful, clean Mahindra engine and provides operators with the tools and comfort they need to be productive throughout the shift.
The Ammann ARX 32.2 Light Tandem Roller meets all CEV Stage V requirements thanks to the durable and fuel-efficient Mahindra MCDHC29NA047CE5. The engine provides power of 36.2 kW @ 2200 RPM.
A key benefit of the roller is its ability to make it even easier for operators to work flush against obstacles such as curbs. It features an articulating joint that enables quick drum adjustment from in-line to offset configurations.
Rollers that are offset are able to manoeuvre close to obstructions. Operators need watch only one drum, knowing the second will be a safe distance from the obstacle. A sliding seat also improves visibility.
The in-line setting, which enables equal distribution of compaction forces, is preferred on more open jobsites. The adjustment between in-line and offset configurations is done manually and is easy for operators to make.
The drum can be offset as much as 40 mm. The articulating joint, which makes the in-line/offset adjustment possible, is maintenance-free. The drum shell, with a thickness of 14 mm, is extremely durable.
The roller features an intuitive dashboard layout, a redesign of the front and rear of the machine and a new LED light system. Reduced sound levels improve operator safety, as does the new light system and a dashboard guardrail.
An electronic drive lever enables smooth starts and stops, essential during asphalt compaction. A multi-level filtration system with a large water tank (340 litres) extends the time between refills.
Maintenance is simple as well. Service and regular maintenance points are easily accessible. Many parts require no maintenance, and drum bearings are self-lubricating.
