Ammann Blends Productivity and Sustainability at Hillhead 2026

Ammann plants and machines are more productive – and more sustainable – than ever. Visitors to Hillhead 2026 can see this firsthand when they attend the show, to be held 23-25 June in Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire, UK.

A variety of Ammann products will be on display.

ASPHALT PAVERS

Electric-drive paver

The eABG 4820 boasts a battery that can last all shift, even in the most demanding applications. The paver is a perfect match for jobsites with restrictions on sound and emissions. It recently recorded the most tons placed by an electric paver in a day, while at the same time reducing C02 emissions by 70%.

HEAVY COMPACTORS

New tandem rollers

Ammann’s new eARX 26-2 Light Tandem Roller features a fully electric drive that can operate for up to 8 hours – and sometimes beyond – without recharging. While categorized as a “light” machine, the compactor has an operating weight of 2640 kg. The absence of a combustion engine makes the eARX 26-2 extremely quiet during operation; sound levels at the operator station do not exceed 79 decibels when in vibration. Because it does not produce emissions, the machine can work indoors.

The ARX 16-2 articulated roller can work with drums in-line or off-set, enabling homogenous compaction against obstructions – and productivity in more open spaces. Operators of all experience levels find the machine easy to control, in part because of the automated intelligent functions. The adjustable articulation joint oscillates to ensure constant contact between the drums and the surface.

Updated trench rollers

The new, narrower (600 mm) Ammann ARR 1575-2 Trench Roller fits into tighter spaces – and moves more freely, too. On more open jobsites, extension kits can increase working width on the articulated roller to 860 mm. A central steering joint with two hydraulic cylinders further advances manoeuvrability and precision.

The new rigid frame Ammann ARR 1585-2 Trench Roller fits into spaces that competitive models can’t. With a base width of just 640 mm, it’s the narrowest trench roller on the market. When conditions allow, drum extensions can increase the operating width up to 850 mm to maximize productivity.

Advanced pivot-steer roller

Ammann’s new pivot-steer roller continues the tradition of manoeuvrability – while adding unparalleled visibility and fingertip operator control. In addition, the Ammann ARP 75 Pivot-Steer Tandem Roller also offers adjustable compaction width through crab mode. A new symmetrical cab with 360º visibility from the operator station establishes a new market standard.

LIGHT EQUIPMENT

Rammers join the lineup

Ammann has expanded its compaction portfolio with the introduction of the ATR 59 and ATR 66 Rammers. The next-generation machines deliver measurable value for contractors through higher productivity, improved ergonomics and simplified serviceability. The machines maintain the performance level of the previous generation but at a lighter weight.

The Ammann eATR 68 Rammer, an electric-drive machine, brings sustainability – and a whole lot more – to the jobsite. The zero emissions machine provides better speed and torque control, which translates to more precise and efficient compaction. There are also big savings after the sale through improved maintenance. The rammer offers power that rivals the petrol version of the machine.

Electric-drive plates

Ammann’s new eAPF 15/40 and eAPF 15/50 Forward Moving Vibratory Plate Compactors dispel the notion that power must be compromised when using an electric machine. The e-drive plates deliver a maximum vibratory frequency of 100 Hz, the same as the petrol versions. The maximum centrifugal force is 15 kN for both versions. Other Ammann e-plates are also renowned for providing power in the quieter, emissions-free package.

ASPHALT-MIXING PLANTS

RAH100 drying drum

The RAH100 Drying Drum is able to utilize up to 100% RAP when producing mix. The system recognizes that temperature is a key factor when incorporating RAP. The recycled material must reach the target temperature, but it is imperative that it be heated gently so the bitumen isn’t damaged.

With the RAH100, the RAP is never heated to temperatures that can damage it, the emissions are always very low, and there is almost no need to overheat the virgin aggregates. It is consistently confirmed as the best RAP usage technology on the global market.

Counterflow dryer

The second-generation RAH50 is the most high-tech counterflow dryer in the Ammann lineup. RAP enters through a middle ring in the dryer drum, which is equipped with a series of channels that control the flow and protect the RAP from high temperatures. The RAP is gently heated when it is mixed with hot virgin aggregate. The mixture enters the annular chamber, which is an advanced, patented component designed to minimize VOC emissions to less than 50 mg/Nm³. The temperature is increased slowly, and the annular chamber protects the newly combined mix from the flame.

Low-investment plant

The ABC SolidBatch Asphalt Batch Plant is a robust, reliable, high-production plant that requires a low initial investment. The plant can use up to 40% cold RAP in the mixer. Another option is the brand-new RAH35, which has a drum dryer with a ring for RAP.

The plant is intended for customers who need to deliver results under tight deadlines. With its lowest cost of ownership, it represents the best value on the market.

Easy customization

Maximum customization, flexibility and performance are key benefits of the ABA UniBatch Asphalt Batch Plant. The plant offers a range of production from 140-400 tons per hour, and the variety of configurations ensures customers can specify what they need. All components are perfectly integrated and designed to reduce fuel burn and emissions.

Ammann’s advanced RAP technologies enable the production of cold, hot and warm asphalt. Mix comprised of 100% RAP is possible. ABA UniBatch is “future optimized” and includes features that can be easily retrofitted so the plant always has the latest, most technologically advanced and profitable options.

The recycling leader

The Ammann HRT (High Recycling Technology) Asphalt Batch Plant is engineered to operate efficiently with very high RAP content – even up to 100%. Its core feature is the vertical introduction of heated RAP into the mixer, ensuring optimal heat transfer, excellent mixing quality and full protection of the aged binder.

Available with RAH60 parallel-flow or RAH100 counterflow double-drum systems, the HRT combines extremely low fuel consumption and emissions with homogeneous temperature distribution. This reduces material sticking and significantly lowers environmental impact.

Great control

The as1 Control System improves mix quality while reducing material waste and energy consumption. It gathers and processes plant data to uncover efficiencies across asphalt operations. The system offers many built-in features and reports.

Additional modules support even more enhanced inside views and tools for optimization. The as1 Plant Information Point (PIP) module enables access to key data on a mobile device, anywhere and anytime. The Plant Asset App (PAA) offers even deeper looks into the plant elements. It delivers instant information – down to the input/output signal level and error view, which are crucial for remote support. The Wheel Loader Terminal (WLT) provides the driver of the loader with all the information needed for their daily work.
